Description
Annual 1099 filing time? SoftLedger customers can generate a year-end report that helps our users produce their 1099 reporting documents.
Set Up
- Toggle on Track for 1099 on your Vendor document, if a 1099 is required.
- Can be done when the vendor is created, or editing an existing vendor.
- Input other pertinent Vendor Details as appropriate. See Vendors Article
How To
Assuming the customer has all their necessary vendors identified in the system with the Toggle turned on.
Navigate to Accounts Payable > Bills page
- Set Filter for the desired period
- Select all available data columns.
- Export filtered results to Excel
Generate a Pivot Table in Excel based on the Exported data set
Depending on your requirement, the necessary Billed or Paid amount is available to help complete 1099 forms.
Vendor Details
If you have been documenting Vendor details in softledger, you can access a report to see data like email, addresses, EIN/SSN, etc.
- Navigate to Accounts Payable > Vendors
- Filter by Field 1099 value set to true
- Select All columns for most comprehensive data
NOTE: SoftLedger does not produce 1099 Forms, rather provide the data necessary for users to fulfill their 1099 filing requirements.
Upload or input details to a 1099 partner
Once you have obtained the required information for 1099 forms for your vendors, you can take the produced excel file into the format for a partner, such as eFileMyForms option from Sovos.
